One morning, a woman stood before the mirror. For a long time, she had only glanced at herself in passing: hair to fix, things to do, somewhere to be. That morning, she thought of none of it. She relaxed her shoulders, raised her arms, and danced until a song she loved came to an end. No one was there to watch her. Yet, for the first time in years, she felt as though she had truly seen herself. Perhaps the colors in the painting belong to that brief moment: a moment she set aside for herself while life carried on, with no need to explain it to anyone.
